Larry Spector

Senior Director of Cloud Security Engineering

Larry serves as 38North Security’s Senior Director of Cloud Security Engineering, leading engineering efforts complementing our cloud security advisory services.

Prior to joining 38North, Larry managed both on-prem and cloud infrastructure, as well as site reliability at Aurora Innovation/Uber ATG in the self-driving vehicle space.

Larry brings 15+ years of experience in the information security and compliance sector, having worked at McAfee Labs, Cybertrust, and Verizon Business, as well as at several smaller startups along the way. His experience includes OS-level security research for DARPA, early implementations of automated vulnerability remediation, development of a platform for enterprise security management, and creation of a commercial PCI self-assessment tool. Currently a Pittsburgher, Larry originally hails from Virginia, where he received a BS in computer engineering from the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
